![]() | ![]() We heard about impending tweaks to Intel's CPU family last week. Now, the rumor mill is churning out details about AMD's plans for the summer. Among those plans: releasing a new, quicker version of the Athlon II X4 processor. Fudzilla has the skinny. According to Fudzilla's report, this upcoming Athlon II X4 645 will run at 3.1GHz and otherwise stick to the Athlon II X4 formula. (So, expect a Socket AM3 package, at 95W thermal envelope, support for DDR3-1333 memory, and all that good stuff.) AMD is reportedly planning to release the CPU later this quarter. http://techreport.com/discussions.x/19210
