The launch of Snapdragon 700 series didn’t mean the death of the 600 series, it just meant that there is a place for a new segment. Qualcomm just announced three new SoCs - the Snapdragon 632, 439 and 429.

There will be a 200, 400, 600, 700 and finally 800 seriesi n the future and the 600 is likely to target a feature rich platform that can provide more technology to end users to last for a day. On top of the list Qualcomm remains with 652, 653 and 660 while the second tier inside of 600 line up with 625, 626, 630 and 636 is getting a new SoC.

The Snapdragon 600 series resulted i over 1350 designs - quite a popular platform at many markets. As you can imagine, the Snapdragon 632 outperforms the existing 630 and it focuses on efficient design, higher performance, better battery, advanced modem and AI capability. It is important to mention that 632 is pin compatible with 626, 625 and 450 processors and it is software compatible even with the Snapdragon 439 and 429. This will make it a much faster time to market for many OEMs that use these SoCs. Many additional chips including RF, PMIC, audio and more can also be used too.

Snapdragon 632 comes with a Snapdragon X9 LTE modem capable of 300 Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload. The modem supports 2x20MHz carrier aggregation, up to 64-QAM, Uplink data compression and up to 2x 75Mbps LTE streams.

The AP part has eight core Kryo 250 CPU that have made it to this tier too. You have four performance cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at the same speed. You should get a performance increase of up to 40 percent compared to Snapdragon 626.
