SUNNYVALE, Calif. — April 9, 2008 —AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced availability and widespread shipping of Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor-based server systems among its channel partners. Ten AMD Validated Server Program platforms are also available and shipping today, addressing customer demand for the business-focused advantages of systems based on Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors. These systems all deliver the benefits of AMD Direct Connect Architecture – energy efficiency, performance, scalability, and virtualization performance.
