OCZ Technology Group, a leading supplier of flash and DRAM-based products, on Monday unveiled several new solid-state drives (SSDs) with enhanced storage capacities. The new SSDs will be able to replace hard disk drives (HDDs) inside workstations that require high performance storage sub-systems in addition to high capacities.
The new drives – Vertex 2 and Agility 2 – now offer 400GB and 480GB editions and feature up to 250MB/s read and 240MB/s write speeds, with higher 4k random writes up to 22 500 IOPS on the Vertex 2-series and up to 10 000 IOPS on Agility 2-series. The new drivers also sport Serial ATA-300 interface and come in 2.5” form-factor, hence are easily to integrate into today's desktop and mobile platforms. The novelties support Trim feature support for Windows 7 systems.
