| OCZ to launch 1GB module with better latency AGGRESSIVE company OCZ, that likes to manufacture memory for overclockers, is about to announce a 1GB PC 4000 modules with much better timings than anytimings before. The company is working on Low latency PC 4000 modules and is about to offer specil kits with two times 1GB. Overclockers who want to use 2 GB of memory in their setups will sure appreciate it but we don't expect it to cost peanuts. It's very hard to manufacture 1GB modules with better timings than the standard 3-4-4 but OCZ managed to get the latency down to 3-2-3. At this timing the top speed of memory will reach 550MHz which is still better than before. Better timings means that your PC will boost a few percentile points of performance increase and it's all about that, some people think. Who has the fastest rig? http://theinquirer.net/?article=26379

| I am surprised to see futher development in DDR while DDR2 street pricing is lower than DDR in some cases. Another point, while the RAM salesmen/women are pushing low latency high FSB DDR using A64 platform they tend to forget there are more people still using Intel DDR P4 systems. A good saleman will look at both side of the aisles rather than just being a nerd/geek/guru. Test rigs on DDRs are focusing on A64 Winchester/Venice in the last 10 months. No pun intended, just want you to make a few bucks from the Northwood users with 3-4-4-8 rams 275 - 300 FSB. A review using some hand-pick 2.4C and DDR say at 300FSB and 2.5-3-3-6 timing to improve efficiency may earn you extra Christmas Bonus
