OCC Reviews MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
 

"For some, the release of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is very welcome as it is the first single-player game in the MechWarrior series to release in almost twenty years. For others, this may be the first exposure to the series and larger BattleTech universe it exists in. I am very much in the latter category, having never played a MechWarrior game or BattleTech game, but thanks to trailers and press releases, I do have some sense of what is going on. Humanity finally entered the stars and the space it inhabited as the Star League was called the Inner Sphere. Over time, the Star League crumbled and separate Houses formed, each controlling a section of the Inner Sphere and the Succession Wars were fought to determine who would lead."
