Default Nvidia's sneaky little secret unsnarfed

NVIDIA HAS A LITTLE secret it doesn't want to get out about the SLI bridge. It seems the current bridge, you can see it in the pics of the Alienware machines that were launched the other day, and the Boxx ones launched months ago, probably isn't the one you will end up getting. The little PCB is a rigid link between the two boards, and that doesn't play very well.
The tolerances on PCIe boards are very tight, and if you bend them, force them at an unnatural angle, teach them yoga, or anything else that isn't strictly in the spec, you have problems. It isn't that NVidia did anything bad, it is just a question of the tolerances of many discrete parts, the case, the mobos, the cards and the bridge can all add up and cause issues. So, we are in a situation where is basically works like advertised, but they don't trust it in the hands of the average mouth breather. I kind of agree with this logic.

did you actually read what I posted Guy?

the current connection for the SLI cards can pose problems if they don't change it to a flexible one

this has NOTHING to do with performance...

ps: why not just post a new thread with a link to Anandtech's article?...

I know John, and I read it. What I meant was that I don't care for any hurdle if the performance is so high...
all hurdles can and will be taken for this kind of performance...
that's what I meant
