NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 512MB G92 Tested

Getting down to the nitty gritty there are some key details we should make mention of. Based on the new G92 core, we have the standard features to come with it such as PCI Express 2.0, a 65nm die and 1:1 texture addressing units : texture filtering units.

These are the features we know to be standard across all of the upcoming 8800GTS G92 based graphics cards, but as far as model specifics go we have in this case 512MB of GDDR3 memory. That 512MB comes clocked in at 1940MHz DDR while the core and shader clocks come in at 650MHz and 1625MHz respectively.

Hmm, 320mb of RAM is definitely a bad idea at 1920x1200 games, amazing difference in performance between 320mb GTS and 512mb GTS at that resolution in virtually every game.

Now the GTX lineup can definately move over and be forgotten about...

It could be very interesting because of the better cooler which is working as exhaust as well.

The raw price performance of the GT will probably be better but with the cooler the GTS might be equal.

unless you already have one, you'll know it will last another few months for running games at high settings without issue:)

With the Crysis results now added, the 8800GTS (G92) beats out the 8800GTX at 1920x1200. It lost by a good margin at 1280x1024, so G92 definitely has much better scaling, beat GTX by ~2FPS and came within 2FPS of the Ultra.

equally matched; only take into account High detail settings, wouldn't want to switch to medium size texture just to be able to play at 1920x1200 :)
