When you see the starting sale prices for these new cards, I'd say... Don't count on it

I seldom try to hit / capture a fast moving target, except in TRAP shooting. Vcard is changing too fast for me. I wonder at times the benefit (bottom line earning).

I made a few bucks from AMD stock last year; Nvidia has it's peak in value. Oh, well...

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang. When asked about ATi's ability to snatch the performance crown from NVIDIA he responded with, "Tiger Woods doesn't win every day. We don't deny that ATI has a wonderful product and it took the performance lead from us. But if they think they're going to hold onto it, they're smoking something hallucinogenic.''

Nvidia stock can easily acquire ATI; now it will be the matter of anti-trust in the US market. It happens, it will be the second time for Nvidia, remember Vdoooo?

3dfx was dying at the hands of nVidia, their TNT2 wiped the floor with the Voodoo II and 3DFX hasn't been able to retake the performance crown since then. The geforce series was the "death stroke(?)" for 3dfx and ATI was the only other company out there which could step up and try something new. Their R8500 was a very close call and had nVidia sweating (the GF3 Ti500 was out a couple of months after the GF3 launch). ATI's R9700 Pro claimed the performance crown, but unlike 3DFX, we see nVidia keeping up with the performance, trailing only by a small margin.

If ATI's new X-series doesn't deliver, we have a new "old" king of performance
