Nikon F6 is no more Nikon kills its last film SLR After 16 years in production, Nikon has discontinued the Nikon F6: the last flagship film SLR it ever made before transitioning to digital. The company also reportedly discontinued the Nikon D5 DSLR, the SB-300 flash, and a couple of older lenses. The story has not been confirmed and comes from a site called Nikon Rumors, which cites a Nikon dealer in Germany who received a memo from Nikon that the following products had been discontinued and were no longer available to order: The Nikon F6 The Nikon D5 The Nikon SB-300 The NIKKOR AI-S 50mm f/1.2 The NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8 None of this is particularly surprising as Nikon is trying to streamline manufacturing and cut costs. But the end of the Nikon F6 comes as a surprise after Nikon kept the camera going for so long. https://fudzilla.com/news/51662-nikon-f6-is-no-more |
