MSI Wind Board
Eco-Friendly & Energy-Saving Mainboard

Today MSI unveils the ultimate energy-saving platform – MSI Wind Board, based on energy-saving technology and Intel® Atom™ 230 processor. MSI Wind Board is the ultra-low-power platform designed with a mix of performance and low power usage. This makes the platform suitable for users who leave their computers on 24-hours per day so long operation will not increase consumption. Further the MSI WIND Board runs Windows XP and Windows Vista Basic and is a perfect solution for value PC’s.

With the MSI excellent electronic circuit design, the full speed operation of MSI Wind Board is only 35Watt. Compared to the 200~250Watt power consumption of a general desktop computer, it can save up to 82% on electricity even when the computer is on for over 24-hours. The idle power consumption of MSI Wind Board is less than 10% of a general desktop computer. The reduced power consumption together with the passive cooling system design reduces the heat of the Wind Board which ensures a very cool system.

MSI Wind Board is based on the latest Intel® Atom™ 230 processors with core clock 1.6GHz, 512KB L2 cache and Hyper-Threading technology support to provide a better computing performance. The power consumption of Intel® Atom™ 230 processor is 4W which equals to only 8% of general notebook computer processor. Further, MSI WIND Board supports 533MHz FSB and 2 DIMMs DDR2-667 memory up to 2GB. The mainboard is equipped with Intel® 945GC chipset, built-in Intel® GMA950 video interface (D-Sub output), SATA 3Gb/s hard drives support and 5.1-channel audio features.
Mr. Vincent Lai, MSI global marketing director, proudly states: “MSI Wind Board is a representative product with MSI’s implementation of the environmental protection policy. With its good and eco-friendly design it shows that it is quiet and delivers good performance.”
