MSI Geminium-VIII gemini Graphic card

MSI, a worldwide leader and manufacturer of graphics cards, showed the MSI Geminium-VIII graphics card at Computex 2005. This graphics card comes in two interfaces, "PCI Express" and "AGP".

The Geminium-VIII graphics card utilizes high performance ATi Radeon X800XL chipset and supports the full speed operation interface (AGP 8X and PCI 16X), so that transmission speed for compatibility will not be sacrificed for simulation or switching.

MSI Geminium VIII product information:
1. Powered by ATi® RADEONTM X800XL Extreme VPU, 16 Pipelines
2. 256MB DDR3 Graphic Memory
3. Core Freq.: 400MHz; Memory Freq.: 980MHz

What on earth is the point of this construction?

It probably won't come into production.

Can't you find every card model in both AGP and PCIe versions?

If you want to upgrade step by step?
You buy this card first on you current agp mobo, and buy the rest later when you have enough money.

euh, it's for those who don't have money for a new PCI-e mobo, but want an X800 now and use it in their PCI-e setup they would buy later (it's cheaper then 2 X800's)
