 | Microsoft Corp. Set to Delay Windows Vista Release to 2007 Microsoft. Corp., the world’s largest maker of software, on Tuesday indicated that consumer version of its Windows Vista operating system (OS), a major update for widely used Windows XP, will not be released commercially in 2006, but will be delayed till the 2007. The delay is conditioned by longer-than-expected security tests of the new OS, according to Microsoft.
