Long term industry veteran rejoins Intel

The exact title of Jon Carvill's new venture is the VP of Marketing for Technology Leadership and he started this job after leaving Facebook as the Director of Technology Communications. Jon is just destined to work in the chip industry, he just knows and likes it too much.

Previous to this new post Jon spent three years at Vevo music video platform as an EVP of Market and communications and between 2013 and 2015 he worked as a Senior Director of Comms at Qualcomm. He helped to shape the great communications team of Qualcomm that many know and appreciate today, and gave them an edge it needed.

Intel was his home between 2011 and 2013 before he joined Qualcomm as the Director of the corporate communication team. His previous jobs included VP of Comms at GlobalFoundries after AMD's spin-off and six years at AMD and ATI. He made an impact in communications and marketing organization of every chip company he's worked at.

Interestingly enough, yours truly met Jon at his first ATI job when he worked on a software graphics driver PR in his early technology days. The fact that we still kept in touch after so many years and changes is astonishing.

Jon is one of the highest acclaimed communication executives I have ever worked with and has a special bold risk taking approach compared to almost everyone else on the technology communications and marketing front. The secret of his success is that his approach works.
