Default IPv6 added to root DNS

The proliferation of websites and other devices requiring IP addresses had threatened to empty the supply of available addresses in relatively short order. ICANN, the not-for-profit corporation responsible for managing the Internet's addressing system, handing out domain names, and resolving disputes has added IPv6 support to its root DNS servers. IPv6 increases the number of addresses which can be provided, as the address fields are 128-bit instead of 32-bit. This opens up the possibility of trillions of additional addresses, a huge improvement over the current 4.3 billion limit under IPv4.
