Today we had the chance to present some questions to Van Can TRAN from Arctic Cooling, but before we get to that we would like to present some information about Arctic Cooling as a company.

Heatpipe allows manufacturers to use alum fins (stamping process) to lower cost at a higher retail price = more profit bottom line.

It also allows a much larger surface area to spread heat when large fan can be implemented. However, speed increase may no longer be the only avenue to increase processor performance; topped by speed increase does not necessitate increase in thermal loss. Hence, air cooling remains the most viable solution in both cost and maintenance.

Like in the auto industry, faster cars do not translate into growing size of radiator on a monthly basis. It is the result of continous improvement in combustion via better intake and exhaust functions; fuel delivery; precise control of variables that negatively impact performance.

Computer by design is to make our lives easier and not more difficult. That being said, I am not against hobbyists enjoying the fiddling of an old MGB which requires lubricating the fuss box on a regular basis to prevent electrical malfunction. Imagine you are driving a car today that requires oil change every 500 miles; tyres replacement every 15,000 miles; engine tune up every 2,000 miles ....... those were routine stuffs 40 years ago:)

Contrary to most hardcore PC enthusiasts, air cooling will remain the mainstream cooling for a long time to come.:D

AC PSU

makes no sense fighting Seasonic EXCEPT they would put up a affordable modular 140mm fan PSU with 30A+ on the 12W rail with very high efficency


the failure at silentpcreview with their cases already has shown that they aren't invulnerable

and if they bring that PSU before they bring a 120mm fan, I'm going to flip


the Papsts cost me an arm and a leg and I'd have to get two for a new case
