Intel will hop on the Adaptive Sync train

At least according to Chris Hook

It appears that Intel is definitely considering to support VESA's Adaptive Sync on Intel GPUs.

In a conversation with a moderator on Reddit, Chris Hook, an ex-AMD marketing guy who now holds the title of Discrete Graphics and Visual Technologies Marketing at Intel Corporation, has confirmed that Intel is still committed to bring Adaptive Sync support on its GPUs.

This doesn't come as a surprise since it was already talked about back in 2015, and it makes sense for Intel to jump on the royalty-free boat as it has already made a significant impact on the market in the form of AMD FreeSync.

Of course, this can be considered as a big move since Intel has already announced that it will be bringing a dedicated GPU in 2020, something that got both AMD and Nvidia quite worried, as while both of these companies have a firm foothold in the GPU market, Intel is a giant that can upset that fragile market.
