Intel plans Q9505, 45nm quad-core

Intel plans to launch one more CPU, but surprisingly this time we are talking about a Yorkfield 45nm Core 2 generation LGA775 CPU. The CPU is less than exciting, as it is nothing more than Q9550 version with 6MB of L2 cache.

Core 2 Quad Q9550 works at 2.83GHz, has 12MB of cache, 95W TDP, while Q9505 will share the same spec but it the cache amount will be crippled to 6MB. The "new" CPU should cost $212 at launch and its sole purpose is to replace Q9400 2.66GHz quad-core in the „mainstream 2“ target category.
