Default Intel opens Fab 28 in Israel

INTEL STAGED THE opening of its Kiryat Gat fab 28 today, the first high-volume 45 nanometer manufacturing factory outside the US.

The $3.5 billion fab was inaugurated in the presence of Israel’s Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, head of Intel Israel, Maxine Fassberg, Intel's Mobility Group boss, David Perlmutter, manufacturing cheif, Josh Walden, and several other cworthy folk.

Fassberg said the fab fab was “testament to Intel's continued investment in our most strategic asset – the most advanced, environmentally friendly manufacturing network in the world”.
