Intel® Launches Core™ i7 Custom Desktop Challenge

Madshrimps is proud to be an official partner of Intel's Custom Desktop Challenge, this year you have until November 16th to submit a cool looking desktop PC. You can win lots of prices if your casemod is selected by the professional jury. There's also a public vote, so more chances to win. We'll be reporting about the contest here at the site, giving you updates along the way, up until the big final in December. So get out your Dremel and show them what you can do.

We're jumping up and down in our clean suits over the launch of the new Intel® Core™ i7 and Core™ i5 processors. And we can't wait to see what you can build with the newest, smartest, and fastest processors - designed for the most demanding tasks like intense gaming, serious video editing, and more.

How to participate

This multi-country design challenge is open to anyone who wants to build a desktop that demonstrates a bold vision of a creative future. You can choose to either showcase your Mod Creativity, or you can show us how you can improve everyday life with a Lifestyle Innovation, or both. Participating countries include the fifty United States and the District of Columbia, Canada (except Quebec), United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Japan.

While the title of the contest is Core i7, keep this in mind:
Q: Do I have to purchase a new Intel® Core™ i7 or Core™ i5 processor, or can I use my existing one?
A: No purchase of an Intel® Core™ processor is necessary. A purchase or payment of any kind will not increase your chances of winning.
