Default Intel to launch three parts next week

INTEL IS GOING to have a big day next Tuesday, launching three product families at once. Lynndale, the attendant P55 chipset, and the category shaking CULV parts will all happen at the same time.

Some sources say that the NDAs lift on Monday, September 7th, but that is a holiday in the US, so any launches will almost assuredly be on Tuesday the 8th. Some of the specs are out there already. Anand put up a Lynndale review months ago, and the P55 motherboards have been pictured for even more time. The best of the bunch are undoubtedly the CULV CPUs. Fudzilla revealed a few bits about them here, and Ars pointed out that Samsung spilled the beans early.

The Lynndale/P55 combo will grab most of the headlines, though. A cheaper Nehalem quad core is going to be a good thing for most enthusiasts, no question there. The yet to be answered question is how well the stack will line up against AMD's line for price/performance. Lynndales coupled to the P55 chipset, specifically the Gigabyte P55-UD6, overclock very well.
