Default Intel gets SLI license from Nvidia! SLI coming to Intel chipsets

With AMD's acquisition of ATI, AMD had its own multi-GPU solution (SLI). Intel chipsets with enough PCIe lanes were always theoretically capable of running Nvidia cards in SLI mode - heck there were some hacked Nvidia drivers on the net enabling it for some motherboards - however Nvidia never officially licensed it before.

Yet another reason to look forward to X38! I regret buying my P35 board already though... More bad news for ATI...

Is this confirmed or just rumors? I have not heard from financial news on this yet.
