 |  Intel cuts its prices across the board in Q3/07 They start off with the Quad cores, but also Dual cores and Xeons get their prices cut : "Intel has scrapped plans for the quad-core 2.13 GHz Core 2 Quad Q6400, but instead added plans for a quad-core 2.66 GHz Q6700. However, Intel's guidance will cut the price of the Q6600 and the Q6700 dramatically -- Intel will cut the price of the Q6600 to a more discounted price than the Q6400 was ever expected to launch at. http://www.dailytech.com/Aggressive+...rticle6488.htm

| I didn't need a new cpu but come Q4 maybe I'll get rid of my by then granny-FX-53, an overclocked quad core at 3+ghz is nothing to sneeze at

| the 8 multi is only 1 short of the current 6600 and 4300 Multiplier I think Intel indeed wants to kill or at least cripple AMD. |

| since most enthousiasts have dual core already , i only see moving to quad cores interesting.From x2 to conroe isnt interesting from my pov |
