Intel Conroe overclocked to 3.9Ghz - SuperPi in less than 13 seconds
 

Xtremesystems.org member Fugger has succeeded in overclocking his Intel Conroe sample (also named Core 2 Duo) to a never seen before speed of 3910Mhz. He obtained this crazy speed by disabling one of the cores on the Conroe E6600 sample and with a vcore of 1.65v was able to run let the CPU run stable enough to run SuperPi 1Mb in 12.984 seconds and PiFast in 24.31 seconds.

Our own Madshrimps forum member Gamer got his Conroe to 3.4Ghz beating a P4 7ghz+ in SuperPI. This latest overclocking run closes in on 4Ghz and will surely promise unprecedented performance in many applications and games, if only it were to run like that using simple air cooling :)
