Intel claims transistor invention will extend Moore's Law

CHIP FIRM Intel said it had cooperated with a QinetiQ research team to develop a very low power transistor that uses new materials.
QinetiQ is a British company spun off from the UK government's Ministry of Defence.

The trannie uses indium antimonide (InSb)to conduct current. The two firms have worked on InSb transistors before, but say the prototypes have a gate length of 85 nanometres, half the size of those they announced before.

Intel claimed it's the first time enhancement mode transistors have been demonstrated, and will work at about half a volt. µ
