There are moments in PR land where we can't help wondering what they were thinking, but this release from Intel made us think that the outfit had been taken over by Putin's Fake News trolls.

According to Intel, the Core i3–8145U (a dual-core chip) is up to 65 per cent better than the new Ryzen 7 3700U (a quad-core processor). Here are the figures

Intel must know that at this point that the Industry benchmarks show the Ryzen 5 3700U manages to beat the Core i5-8250U. The lower-end Core i3-8145U which Intel claims beats this chip can’t even keep up with the older Ryzen 5 2500U, let alone the 3700U. The Ryzen 7 3700U competes with the Core i5-8265U and it yes, it costs more but performs more or less the same.

According to Techquila the slides were provided to a Thai IT retailer and outlet to persuade "clueless consumers" into buying Intel products. Here’s the link to the store.
