| Intel Alder Lake-S could bring 20 percent single-thread IPC improvement 10nm SuperFin, DDR5, and PCIe 5.0 While Rocket Lake-S has just been announced recently, we now have new rumors about Intel's 12th gen Core Alder Lake-S CPUs, which could bring as high as 20 percent higher single-thread IPC improvement, support for both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0, as well as DDR5 memory support. According to a leaked set of slides coming from Videocardz.com, Alder Lake could feature up to 20 percent single-thread performance improvement, thanks to the enhanced 10nm SuperFin manufacturing process and the new Golden Cove CPU architecture. The slide also mentions a 2x multi-thread performance improvement thanks to Gracemont cores and hardware-guided scheduling, as well as improved general SoC power, with design optimizations and energy-aware Core Parking. https://fudzilla.com/news/pc-hardwar...pc-improvement |
