INQ challenges ATI, Nvidia

So, instead of offering solutions to AGP market, which DOMINATES the overall share of PC computers out there, ATi overclocked the X1800XT and made a presentation running around the erroneous calculation which claims GeForce 7800GTX 512MB will "die" after 1170 hours. Also, the claim has been done that an average gamer can play 30+ hours on ATi's X1800XT 512MB hardware and only mediocre 7.5 hours weekly before nV's hardware will fail.

Before 1 in 1000 fail!

I love it how you can manipulate stats just by choosing the right one.

And I doubt the stats for one reason, heat. Heat is a hardware killer and obviously ATI doesn't know it (hence, the crappy cooling solutions, like on the 9xxx series). Nvidia is barely better. I'm still waiting for the day AC goes to the OEMs explaining their RMA numbers could be significantly lower if they would let them do the stock cooling.

AGP is dead, because the major OEMs are shipping all new pcs with PCIE and a cheap PCIE motherboard costs (Asrock anyone?) less than the price difference between highend PCIE and AGP cards of the same speed.

AGP is very much alive for those who have nForce3 motherboards or older system; and that's quite a bunch:)
