IBM's 'fab club' tips high-k at 32-nm IBM Corp. and its joint development partners -- AMD, Chartered, Freescale, Infineon and Samsung -- have extended their high-k/metal gate technology efforts to the 32-nm node. IBM and its partners have been working on high-k/metal gate technology for the 45-nm node. It's unclear if that technology is in production at the 45-nm node. No announcements have been made in the arena. http://www.eetimes.com/rss/showArtic...etimes_newsRSS |
Now if AMD can just survive without mounting losses until they can switch to this high-k 45nm process in late 2008, they should be able to fix a few of their yield/thermal/leakage problems all in one swoop. |
