Huawei has iPad Pro answer with 10.8-inch MatePad Pro
 

Punch-hole AMOLED screen, tight bezels, and Kirin 990 SoC

Earlier this week Huawei has unveiled a rather interesting tablet that can be considered as a direct competitor to Apple's iPad Pro, the 10.8-inch MatePad Pro with Kirin 990 SoC.

Measuring at 246x159x7.2mm (9.69x6.26x0.28-inches) and weighing in at 460g (1lbs), the MatePad Pro is an impressive looking device built around a 10.8-inch AMOLED panel with 2560x1600 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio, leaving it with 280 PPI of pixel density. Huawei claims a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio which is achieved with rather slim 4.9mm bezels.

The screen has a punch-hole for the front 8-megapixel camera, offers DCI-P3 color gamut, and 540nit of maximum brightness.

Hardware-wise, the MatePad Pro is powered by Huawei's own flagship Kirin 990 SoC, paired up with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. In case you missed it, Kirin 990 is an eight-core SoC with dual-core 2.86GHz Cortex-A76 cluster, dual-core 2.09GHz Cortex-A76 cluster, and quad-core 1.86GHz Cortex-A55 cluster, as well as ARM Mali-G76 GPU and Dual NPU.

The MatePad Pro also comes with a rear placed 13-megapixel camera, has four four-channel speakers placed in each of the corners, and an array of five microphones. It comes with a 7250mAh battery that should keep it alive for around 11 hours and supports 40W wired, as well as 15W wireless and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. It uses USB 3.1 Type-C plug, has 802.11ac dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1, and also has LTE support, on the LTE version of course.
