GTA 4 (PC): Intel Core i7 far ahead of Core 2 Quad in CPU benchmarks
 

The PC version of GTA 4 is especially challenging for the processor and thus PC Games Hardware ran benchmarks with the Core i7 to check how well Intel’s CPU can deal with Rockstar’s action game. We compared the Nehalem architecture with Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo processors as well as AMD’s Phenom.

Anybody else notice the Phenom X4 @ 2.6Ghz beating the E8600 ?

Why would that be unusual? Just shows the game is heavily multithreaded. Lower clocked Q9550 still beats the higher clocked X4 9950.

The Core 920 results are what puzzles me... drastically slower clocks but breaks away from the pack. Puzzling because of Core I7's hit & miss with some games...I wonder what a 965XE would get.
