Default Google accuses Nokia and Microsoft of patent conspiracy

Google claims that Nokia and Microsoft are involved in a conspiracy to use their patents against smartphone industry rivals.

The company filed a formal complaint with the European Commission.

According to Reuters, Google claimed Microsoft and Nokia, which cooperate on smartphone technology and production, of transferring 1,200 patents for assertion to a group called MOSAID.

We guess that the fact that it is similar to MOSSAD can be no coincidence and that it is time for people to stick on their tin foil hats.

Google claims that MOSAID was nothing more than a "patent troll" which was aimed at bringing down Microsoft and Nokia's enemies.

The statement said that Nokia and Microsoft were colluding to raise the costs of mobile devices for consumers, creating patent trolls that side-step promises both companies have made.

It claimed that the pair should be held accountable, and the company hopes its complaint spurs others to look into these practices.

Microsoft replied that the complaint was a "desperate tactic" by Google which controlled more than 95 percent of mobile search and advertising.

It added that Google is complaining about patents when it won't respond to growing concerns by regulators, elected officials and judges about its abuse of standard-essential patents, a Microsoft spokesperson said.

Vole was referring to the fact that Google has been using Motorola Mobility patents as a defence against Microsoft and Apple's patent trolling. Some of the patents involved are part of standards which are not really supposed to be used in such a way.
