Geforce 9 series officially renamed to G100, GT120 and GT130

Re-branding and Nvidia. These two words have been commonly seeing each other hanging around way too often. Back in December, Nvidia told us that GT120 and similar re-brands for old chips are not happening, then in January, German retailer MediaMarkt made G96 based Geforce GT120 cards public and now, Nvidia dared to listed it on its web page. Suddenly it was all real.

Even the mighty Apple calls G96, a 65nm chip Geforce GT120 and you can see Nvidia’s page here and Apple's stuff here. G95 use to be called Geforce 9500GT and 9400GS before, but GT120 does sound better. It looks like GT1x0 is OEM only stuff, and G100, GT130 are also listed at Nvidia’s official site here. We hope that Nvidia might get some 40nm entry level chips soon enough and get rid of confusing the market with its rebrand names.
