Which Gaming Console Is The Noisiest?

Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have now all released their consoles into the wild. Microsoft had a year head start. Nintendo has made a huge leap towards catching up and Sony is doing their best as well. Now that all three consoles are in the wild, I was curious to determine which console made the most noise. I’m certain I’m not alone in this thought.

why is he putting the SPL meter so close; install each console in the exact same location, take the SPL meter next to you to the place where you sit, and take measurements from there for gods sake!

anyway, the SPL meter's min level is 50dBA, nowhere accurate enough to do any serious readings.

Back to the subject at hand, the Wii is quite noisy indeed when there's media loaded into the drive, much louder than my XBOX (1) which is quite noisy thanks to the CPU/GPU fan :/ . The PS2 (slimline) is dead silent, only when you put media inside you'll be able to hear it, and even then it's far from loud.

If I had an XBOX 360/PS3 I could do a more serious noise comparison
