 |  Facebook hit by class action A case started in a Vienna court today on behalf of 25,000 people that claim Facebook has been hoovering up their data illegally. The class action, if successful, would result in Facebook having to dole out £9 million, with each of the plaintiffs getting £360 each. Facebook won’t comment on the case and will wait patiently for the outcome. The lead plaintiff alleges that Facebook collects data from people that haven’t even opted in to the social networking site. He also alleges that Facebook doesn’t have a proper privacy policy and is essentially indulging in mass surveillance for commercial purposes. Facebook does indeed change its terms and conditions very regularly and you have to be a real wizard to navigate the turbulent waves that make up its privacy policy. http://www.techeye.net/business/face...y-class-action |
