Dual cores drop under 50 euro in retail

In recent days, Intel's 1.6GHz E2140 has dropped to €49, and while this is far from a powerful CPU by today's standards it will probably do more than well in office computers, cheap home machines and HTPCs. On the AMD front, you can get a 2.1 GHz Athlon X2 4000 for €49.99. This is a 65nm Brisbane part, G1 stepping and while it's probably not as overclockable as Intel's E2140, this really doesn't matter that much in low end machines, and if you take overclocking out of the equation, it's great value for money.
