DFI RS482 Infinity Motherboard
 

Well, there is no doubt left in my mind that DFI has definately done a great job and thought things through in creating the RS482 Infinity. With features like onboard DVI-D, TV and HDTV output, full 8 channel analog and digital audio inputs and outputs, PCI-Express graphics, four DIMM slots, and completely passive cooling, this board is obviously meant to satisfy the needs of "DIY" enthusiast media folks; and I think it definately succeeds. The DFI RS482 Infinity also comes with a nice little bundle to take advantage of all the video outputs and an instruction manual big enough to house an explanation of every setting, jumper, header, and BIOS setting available.
The only part of the RS482 Infinity that left a sour taste in my mouth was overclocking. Although this is a DFI board, it is still a microATX layout and setup and that has obviously caused some problems. While some people have gotten great results from thier RS482 Infinity, I was not quite so lucky. But with so many different settings available in the BIOS, one could tweak this board for days on end and possibly have much more overclocking success. Overall though, The RS482 Infinity is definately worth considering if you are looking to piece together a small form factor media system.
