They did not experiment with the high/low performance rheobus which is on the control center unit

Testing the Freezone now, X-Bit Labs is right that it's certainly not silent, quite noisy if you want performance; but in their review they did not set the unit to max performance it seems, by turning the rheostat on the control unit you can set voltage to the Peltier units and set fanspeed, now running it at max performance settings, pure temp wise, it's doing far from bad, only a few degrees trailing the Ultra-120 (mated with 70dBA fan!!) compared to silent solutions, it's ahead; at close distance I measure 61.7dBA at "high" performance setting; Zalman CNPS9700CU at high 62.2dBA, Freezone is running several degrees cooler:)

Close to it's limit peltier could really turn against you. A few degrees cooler at A price.:)

certainly, they tested with a Quad Core CPU and exceeded the recommended wattage of 175W by overclocking the Core2Quad...

At lower fan/pelt setting the performance is less stellar, less noisy too, but hotter running CPU.

Temp probe of the CoolIT just increased power to fan and Peltier when CPU hit 59°C, temperature is dropping, but I had hoped to get some "medium" speed setting result... not happening it seems:)

Canadian company is no different than U.S., we have product liability in mind:) The auto increase is to ensure it does not get worst.

Nothing against CoolIT, but the Freezone/Eliminator make watercooling look like an almost perfect alternative. :D
