China follows US on child internet laws Authoritarian regimes line up to "protect children." The Chinese government is apparently so impressed with US congress moves to get kids off the internet it has come up with some similar laws of its own. China's cyberspace regulator said children under the age of 18 should be limited to a maximum of two hours a day on their smartphones, sending shares in tech companies tumbling.
