BTO Plusdeck2 PC Cassette Deck

In the digital age of CD's, MP3 and Ogg audio file formats, many people have all but forgotten about the trusty old audiocassette. Better computer audio packages and connectivity options now allow people to connect PC's directly to stereo systems, VCR's, DVD players and televisions - thus giving users better control of their multimedia environments. So would an audiocassette deck for a computer be considered a worthwhile expenditure?

uhm; no. just being able to play old tapes and convert them to .mp3 IS more popular:)

I assume the recorded tape in mp3 can be played in the car cassette .... I still have this ancient thing in my ancient car.:)

the previous car my parents drove had a cassette player, I simply used my Hifi hooked up to PC to record a few tapes (4 x 90min) more than enough.

but now everything is CD (or better MP3/Memory Stick), so cassette player is history:)

at $150 it's not quite a bargin either; and even at $89 it's still way overpriced

Indeed, this is arguable - yet if not the most popular feature, it is close to it... In actuality, the most popular (to most people) has been recording from audiocassette to MP3. :)

I would also agree that its overpriced, even at $89.00 USD - I would imagine a $50.00 USD pricetag would make it more of a worthwhile expenditure.

Yet there is something to be said for the convenience of ripping tapes to MP3 and computer-generated WAV's to MP3. Although this can always be achieved via alternate methods, this does provide an easy and convenient solution.

Regardless, I thank you for your comments - and yes, I do watch our friends' forums. For the Mad Shrimps do ROCK. ;)

Thanks - yet please know that open (and hopefully) constructive criticism is actually anticipated.

I hope this isn't a breach of protocol, because we believe in everything Mad Shrimps does - In fact, that's why we're affiliates. ;)
In fact, what is probably the best solution is for me to just back off, and let you guys fire away - so c'mon, go ahead and shred it! :D

since you ask ;)

page 3 & 4 can be cropped a lot, the detailed install instructions on the plusdeck2 is a bit overkill
on page 8 I would have loved to see an .mp3 sample from a cassette you converted :)
also the Dubbing voice leads to an invitation to let your voice rip on the web!
