"Barton" XP2500 Overclocking i think you better read the whole article befrore shooting this processor down. a lot of people reach 2.4 and 2.5 with standard air cooling not to shabby |
indeed, I reach 2300Mhz, even when it's extremely hot in here --> I need a new and better fan (and not only for my pc):p |
then my statement still remains correct, since the XP1700+/XP1800+ is still the budget overclocking king... cost half as much as the Barton XP2500+ and clocks as high & higher.. |
correct, but the Barton XP2500+ doesn't cost twice as much anymore (95,9 €) and has off course a larger l2 cache |
the XP1700+ costs 45€ ... =) |
sure, a normal XP1700+ that is, (those can't go higher than a XP2500+) but the good ones, like DLT3C, cost 75 € or more |

again correct (darn u:) ) but in that case u have to be very lucky to get an DLT3C, which is hard to find these days(people, looking for a good XP1700/1800, pay even more than newprice on fora) ergo saying that XP2500+ is much more expensive than a Xp1700 isn't always true: ur lucky, and have a cheap DLT3C or u know alot about their cores, and ur willing to pay more |
Are there already some good overclocking steppings known? |
there's only one stepping of Bartons the only difference is the week they're produced. the later manufactured, the better they clock |
