ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro coming end of the year
 

The HD 2900 Pro will arrive in Q4 2007, this new card uses the same R600 core has HD 2900 XT, the target is to fill the gap between NVIDIA's 8600GTS and 8800GTS 320. The price should be close to USD 200

Right about the time of the NV 9800 launch, there won't be much gap filling in my humble opinion, as the GTS 320 will either be down priced noticeable, or simply disappear, making the 9800GTS the next best thing?

And if that 9800GTS pwns as much as the 8800GTS, noone wants a Pro version of a card that already is too slow as XT

It won't be pretty for ATI, safe to say. I would imagine the 9800GTS would about double the performance of the 8800GTS? Might take 2-3 "Pro" cards to equal just a GTS if so...
