ATI Radeon 4870 to launch at $299
 

ATI has informed its bellowed partners that it will launch Radeon HD 4870 cards next week with a new suggested etail price. Instead of going for $329 ATI will launch its cards with $299 as it wants to position this card better than GTX 260, its main competitor.

Geforce 9800 GTX is listed in American etail for as low as $259.99 after a mail in rebate, but the first information we've gathered confirms that Radeon HD 4870 is faster than 9800GTX.
