Asus' Tinker Board lineup has been around for quite some time but now, we have the first one that will be using a RISC-V processor, the Asus Tinker V.

Asus' Tinker Board line of single-board systems, which are aimed at developers and IoT applications, have been around since around 2017, and while these were powered by ARM-based processors, it appears that Asus is looking into RISC-V as well.

The latest Tinker Board V is based on a 64-bit RISC-V processor, namely the Renesas RZ/Five, featuring a single-core 1GHz clocked Andes AX45MP. It pairs it up with 1GB of DDR4 memory, a microSD card slot for storage, support for an additional 16GB eMMC module, SPI flash, two GbE Ethernet ports, two micro USB ports, two CAN Bus (6-pin), and two COM RS-232 (5-pin) ports. It also gets a 20-pin GPIO header.

According to Asus, the board supports Debian and Yocto Linux distributions.

Unfortunately, there is no word on the price or availability date.
