We will find out what a retail custom 290X can really do. Uniquely, the ASUS R9 290X DirectCU II comes with custom red or gold metallic stickers to customize your video card according to your ASUS motherboard color. Out-of-the-box, the video card comes without the stickers applied. We decided to go with the red metallic stickers to match our ASUS Maximums V Extreme motherboard. The ASUS R9 290X DirectCU II will retail for $569.99 in January.
