Asus to launch Crossfire board: A8R-MVP

TIER ONE motherboard manufacturer Asustech is about to release its first motherboard based on the ATI Crossfire chipset. The board is almost finished and we expect to see it in UK retail and "etail" in the next two weeks. Asus decided to use ATI's RD 480 north bridge and ULI's M1575 south bridge. This is the way to get rid of the childhood fever that you can expect from ATI's south bridge.
The Asus motherboard, called the A8R-MVP, will support all socket 939 CPUs whether they're Sempr0ns, Athlon 64s or Athlon X2s. It will be equipped with four memory slots supporting 4GB of memory.

The board will feature two physical 16X PCIe slots working in 8x mode each, will have a PCIe 1X slot and three PCI slots. The ULI chipset supports two IDE channels and four S-ATA 1 and 2 with support for RAID 0, 1, 0+1 and JBOD. The board has eight USB 2.0 ports, supports Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN, ADI AD1986A SoundMAX 6-channel High Definition Audio with SPDIF supported.

The mobo will offer all the necessary options you need for overclocking including voltage tweaking, AI overclocking and will come with bunch of Asus unique tools such are Asus Mylogo, CrashFree Bios 2, Asus Q-Fan and Asus EX Flash.

We are told that this board should be ready in the next two weeks and this is whem you can buy it, too. µ
