ARM-based Opteron now available in $2,999 developer kit Seattle, AMD's first ARM-based CPU, is now available in a developer kit. The kit is based on an Opteron A1100-series chip with quad Cortex-A57 cores. The 64-bit chip is nestled in a microATX motherboard loaded with dual DDR3 memory slots, multiple PCIe slots, and eight SATA connectors.
