Apple iPhone 3G to cost €525 in Belgium Mobistar has announced that the iPhone 3G will be available in Belgium on 11 July. They are going to charge €525 for the device which was originally slated as $199 by Apple in the US. They say that the increased price is due to them having to pay up to allow the iPhone 3G to be sim-unlocked. While you can only buy your iPhone 3G from Mobistar you can use it with other networks like Proximus and Base. €525 gets you the 8Gb version in black, the 16Gb is even more expensive at €615 but you can choose the color, white or black... woooo! Mobistar will offer three service plans, the cheapest at €30/month allows you to make 3h phone calls or 200 SMS; data limit is set at 200Mb. For €45/month you get 6h phone calls or 400 SMS; data limit at 500Mb. The most expensive plan at €60 gives you 9h to make phone calls and 1Gb data limit. In other European countries we see much lower costs for owning an iPhone 3G. In the Netherlands users get a no-limit data transfer and the iPhone is €400 cheaper too! The downside is that they have to buy the phone bundled with a 2 year subscription plan. The iPhone will go on sale at 00:01 11-07-2008 and can be found in 150 Mobistar Centers or Apple Premium Resellers. There will be a 1 iPhone/client limit for the first few weeks, until demand and supply are balanced out. Data limits on a device made to play Youtube during boring moments, 200Mb will last you a week. |

Next week i'm ordering a Nokia N95 8GB, 475 EUR @ typhone.nl Took me ages to make up my mind |
N95 feels realy plastick and not that solid. |
1 Attachment(s) ... and N95 has to be adapted to work with TomTom, I'm not going to pay for native Nokia route-planner Sorry, but IPhone is no match: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone1=2088 14,88 EUR / 100MB (mobistar client) on top of current abbo = expensive AND coverage mobistar < proximus http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_be.shtml |

It has to have GPS function ? Going to take a look in the safe here today what I can recommend you. |
I have colleague who has a N95, what a big brick of fancy gadgetry. Why does it have to have GPS? it's these extra none-phone functionalities which drive up the price way out of proportion. A decent standalone GPS is €200. Get a €200 phone and each device will be better than one who combines both:) |
thx for the feedback as i'm more & more "on the road", it is usefull to have a gps on me. In stead of carrying two devices, i think it's a feat having only one device A friend of mine has a N80, screen is kinda small for a gps ... but it gets him where he has to go ... in comfort ... at the exact location. He takes it along on business and city trips and using it A LOT Only real disadvantage of such devices is that i'll spend hours playing with it :D:rolleyes::o |

I have a TYTN II from HTC for almost a year now and am very happy with it. No rush to get an iphone -> actually only would want one to eliminate my other iPod, carry only 1 device. And indeed : dedicated gps-systems might be a little better, I don't want to drag them around as well. |

Still curious though about the contents of your safe |
