AMD Socket M2 delayed to Mid-Year

WORD HAS IT that the pretty pretty socket M2 from AMD will be a little late. How late? Well we were hearing March, then March/April, AKA late Q1/early Q1. That was the way it would stay for months and months. It looked like a Cebit rollout, availability starting soon after.

I bet a lot of people are pissed that they have waited instead of grabbing a 939 setup now.

There is no economic reason for AMD to push the M2 in Q1, Q2 is better when tax return arrives, Chinese New Year holiday is over and like they said during Cebit to get more support. Why is Chinese New Year holiday a factor? M2 requires new chipset and motherboard, both are made in South East Asia, people live there are Chinese. Growth of processor sales are not in the U.S. nor EU. Go figure.

they might delay it because of DDR2 supply, altough DDR2 is still dirt cheap compared to DDR
