AMD Socket 939 Processors
 

seems like the 3700+ S754 is a pretty good buy no? in 4-6 months :)

now it suxx, then it'll rock.
it'll be 600 euros here

it's really quite easy...
we have extremely high priced amd socket 939 processors, one very high priced new socket 754. all that on boards that do not support pci express and that are not ddr2 ready (for whoever needs that)
so the bottom line is : wait till nextgen 90nm hammers in six months with new mobos and pci-x, buy socket 754 now and overclock it

To hell with the processor, I want the box!! :o

only if it has the same features/performance as the nvidia and via chipsets in my humble opinion.

as all the important parts are mostly in the CPU, such as memory controller, ...

The chipset is less important (mostly fot features such as sound, ...) and ofcourse overclocking features.

how about PATA/SATA performance? Gigabit lan?

Damn, I almost hoped ASrock would preduce a 50 euro dual processor A64 board.... which it isn't. : /

@jmke: SATA / PATA performance of Sis chipsets have always been a strong point, and the motherboard comes with a PCI-X gigabit lan card, which can be replaced, offcourse.

Seems like the 755FX chipset is even slightly faster than the k8t800Pro. This might be one hell of a budget board. : )
